Nau Mai, Haere Mai ki te kura o Te Mahoe
We are a small, rural school located in the backdrops of the natural bush, approximately 30kms from Whakatane. The Matahina Dam and Putauaki Maunga are just a few of the amazing focal points in our backyard. Te Mahoe school has been operating since the 1960’s and has seen many changes along the way.
We cater up to year 8 and have two classes split into junior and senior levels. We currently have 36 students, all lively, friendly and naturally outgoing children who are curious about others and their learning. Each child is valued as an individual and everything possible is done to make our learning environments positive, inclusive and fun. A range of engaging and multi leveled programs are provided. High expectations are encouraged for students and staff.
Our staff are experienced and fully committed towards the best interests of our students. They know the importance of developing positive rapport and relationships with children. Our board is supportive, encouraging and always open to new learning and ideas.
We pride ourselves on providing the best education possible for all our tamariki. Ensuring they are well balanced academically, socially and spiritually. That they are confident, capable and ready for the transitions into secondary school and therefore with their own future aspiration.
